He has managed international research projects and developed chemoCR. chemoCR is a software recognizing chemical structures in image documents. The chemoCR system combines pattern recognition techniques with a chemical rule based expert system.

He has experience as a software developer for more than ten years and acted as team leader for software development projects since five years. All software projects have been financed by industrial partners. During his PhD in computer science and pharmacology (2004) he worked on a project on HTS data analysis in cooperation with Aventis Pharma and has published more than ten papers on virtual screening. In his academic career he has been working as assistant of Prof. Lengauer (University of Bonn, 2000).
