Robert Bovenschulte

Bob Bovenschulte is President of the Publications Division of the American Chemical Society (ACS). The division publishes journals (print and online editions), magazines (including Chemical & Engineering News), and books primarily in the form of conference proceedings. Prior to joining ACS in 1997, he was Vice President for Publishing at the Massachusetts Medical Society, owner of The New England Journal of Medicine and other medical publications. His career spans scholarly, professional, trade, college, and school segments of the publishing industry. He is a frequent speaker and moderator at conferences of publishers and librarians.

Mr. Bovenschulte has served as Chair of the Executive Board of the International Association of Scientific, Technical, and Medical Publishers (STM), Chair of the Board of Directors of the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC), Chair of the Executive Council of the Association of American Publishers' Professional and Scholarly Publishing Division (AAP/PSP). He has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the Society for Scholarly Publishing and the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR). Currently he is a member of the Director's Advisory Committee for the University of Chicago Press.
